Discover the Science of Slime! Dress up, make gooey slime and make new friends.
About this Event
Do you love Halloween & Slime? In this one-time class, learners will be encouraged to dress up in their costumes and make gooey slime.
We will cover the properties of matter, Non-Newtonian substances, and Polymers. Students will learn some interesting, wacky, and unique principles of Non-Newtonian substances and see some experiments on sheer force, chemical reactions, and even a molecular explosion!
For Halloween slime materials:
Orange, purple, black or green color, learners can add anything they want to their slime. Food coloring or paint works fine. Glitter, glow in the dark color or eyeballs. (it is all up to the learner)
We will be using glow in dark face paint located at the party store or Wal-Mart.
Staflo (sold at Wal-Mart for less than $3)
Glue. I like to use the regular white Elmer’s glue, but completely up to the learner.
Glass jar with lid to keep the slime.
spiders, eyeballs anything creepy will work.
We also include some GLOW STICKS in the jar to keep the slime glowing.
Gloves to wear for protection
After the project, we will play a game where we sit around a virtual campfire and tell scary (kid friendly) stories.
