Halloween Theme: Glowing Water Science Experiment

Supplies:

• 3 Empty Bottles or glasses
• Highlighter
• Tonic water
• Water
• Black light

Instructions

1. Pull the back off a highlighter and drop the ink into a cup of water.
2. Fill the second bottle with tonic water.
3. Fill the third bottle with regular tap water.
4. Take the water with the highlighter ink in and stir the water to mix in the ink and then pour it into the first bottle.
5. Position the black light behind the bottles.
6. Turn on the black light and observe the three bottles.
7. Do any of them glow? Which ones and why?
